You can file this under "guilty pleasures" for me Sarah. My sister bought it back in 83 and with it being played day in, day out for weeks, I couldn't help but grow to like it. P.Y.T.(pretty young thing) would be a good track to play, if only for the reason that it's one of those good songs you never hear,as it wasn't released.
"I said you wanna be startin' somethin', you got ta be startin' somethin'....." Coooool (in a retro kinda way, obv...lol)
Even though I admitted last week that one of my first singles I ever bought was "Billie Jean"(I was young and didn't know what I was doing) I was never a fan of Whacko Jacko. But I suppose "Thriller" album has to be one of those albums that deserves to be added to the list if Critical Junction.
Sarah for the record I have seen Jacko to Metallica live in concert. I am not a metalhead I am aging head banging Rocker :-P

Sarah, this may be critical if I was 14 - not sure it stands the test of time. Probably on the list but not a favourite - agree the guilty pleasures comment.
Could we have a serious one next week please Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles kind of stuff.
There is NO WAY that you can trivialise this album to the status of Guilty Pleasure...MY GOD...gasp...are you all mad???
BTW Greg, you listed this at Number 8 on your album list on the Live Drive Forum.....tum te tum...
And Serious?? Quincy Jones is not Serious?? *splutter*
C'mon people it's the SUMMER, get your groove on.
Yeah, I know and I listened today and they did stand the test of time. They WERE good. However he's such a weirdo muppet he doesnt deserve the respect anymore.
No8 was a mistake maybe No 88. ;-)
Someone texted in while we were playing a track with the comment "Go Wacko, He still has it!" and John Mc rightly pointed out No, but he did HAVE it!
I'm sticking by the choice, it made a change on the show....maybe we will be hearing a little more from Michael.....;)
you can't undermine the influence this awesome artist had on the music industry, especially in the 80's. What has happened to his career since shouldn;t take away from historical accuracy - it would be like saying george best wasn;t a great footballer simply because of his fondness for an excessive lifestyle.
You could argue for years over which artists should be chosen: Beatles, Stones, T-Rex, Run-D.M.C - the list is endless!
Keep up the good work Sarah - your radio voice, music choice and intimate knowldge of the M1/M50 roundabout keep me hooked!
