Parallel Lines - Blondie
Bred from the New York Punk scene, 60's girl band referencing Blondie kissed the dying gasps of New Wave good bye and hooked up with British Pop producer Mike Chapman to produce 1978's Parallel Lines. It is the bands own songwriting that solidified their position at the top of the British and American charts with Picture This, Heart Of Glass and One Way Or Another all providing Hits. Sarah - 2 hot chicks in a row - excellent. I think I have the vinyl version in my attic. Still great choice and I have to agree with you on last weeks EmmyLou also.
I suppose EJM will force you back to some heavy metal next week.
Glad you approve Greg, I love this album, I think most people would find it hard to fault it, I don't think I have ever heard anyone say "I can't stand Blondie", with the weather so good outside it should make for perfect morning music. Journeyman, no doubt, will have his say but I believe there is enough guitar in this even for him...!
I can't stand Blondie!!!!.....lol Only kidding, it's good for moralle. No, you'll have no complaints from me over this one guys. And just to prove it, could you play PICTURE THIS as it is possibly one of Blondie's greatest, yet completely underrated songs. Excellent stuff Sarah!!....See? I don't have a wooden heart after all (and that's not a cue for Elvis either....lol)
Thanks Sarah.....specially for The Eternal Journeyman.....how cool is that!!!...lol
I have to say I kind of doubt that Picture This is under rated??
Paralell Lines has so many great tracks on it if you didn't know better you'd think you were listening to a Best Of....
