I think this one can join the bin with The Who album Sarah, especially in the feedback stakes....or lack of them....lol
Ah c'mon now Journeyman, I'm standing over this one, if for no other reason than I think that Red Dirt Girl is one of the most amazing ballads of recent times. The album has it's faults, sure, it isn't one hit after another, but trust me, put this in the stereo and go for a long drive through the country side (north west Donegal is a good place)and it will get under your skin in a good way. It has a mix melancholy and hope that really grabs me.
I'm ok with the fact that you don't like it but there is NO WAY it can be compared to that The Who concept album debacle. Take it back!!!
Ok, ok Sarah...relaxi taxi....I take it back. And I don't doubt that it will get under your skin as you drive through the leafy countryside of Donegal...but I don't think the other traffic would appreciate it being stuck behind your tractor for an hour, because if that's good driving music then you'd have to be driving one....lol.
I've listened to the whole thing too and my honest oppinion is it's a bit Snow Patrol...with a country twang to it.
And I'm not knocking your choice of album...we've agreed on music too many times for me to do that... But if it's driving music, I'd be going straight back for Eliminator to keep my wheels turning (and north west Donegal will go on my to do list to try it out....lol) We should have a debate over a pint some time...lol
Defo reccomend you take a trip to Donegal, leafy countryside it ain't. Its more barren windswept mountains and the crashing atlantic ala The Mission, what you describe conjures up Driving Miss Daisy!!:D:D
We'll agree to differ on the Album, maybe you'll fare better with next weeks selection......."relaxi taxi?".....I'll definetly be using that one...;)
