Eliminator - ZZ Top

In 1983 Texan Boogie Boys ZZ Top released Eliminator, fixed themselves up with some MTV friendly videos and became mega stars of the moment. Take a few astonishing beards, mix a little Blues Pop with a synthesizer and a drum machine, add an air guitar and baby you've got your self a hit record!
This album produced the peerless trilogy of hits, Gimme all Your Lovin, Sharp Dressed Man and Legs and they will all be featured on this Thursdays Critical Junction, we'll bow to your tastes to choose the fourth track.

Often imitated but never matched and sounding fresh, fun and even a little funky today, you can't help but like this!

Track listing
1. Gimme All Your Lovin
2. Got Me Under Pressure
3. Sharp Dressed Man

5. I Got The Six
6. Legs
7. Thug
8. T. V. Dinners

Here is another you could play end to end. Well done!!

However for next week especially for the coloured bovine users we need a collection of funeral dirges. Or maybe a Leonard Cohen album - 3am hangover music.

Ooooh I've come over all funny. What a choice!! Sarah, could I make a request? Now I don't want to give you ALL my lovin'(just some) or get you under pressure. And I'm not dressed sharp enough for you to need me tonight, but I reckon you have the legs to play these for me. After all I'm not the thug some make me out to be, the dirty dogs! But if you can could you play I GOT THE SIX and IF I COULD ONLY FLAG HER DOWN? And hey!! you never know, I might treat you to dinner (TV obv)
You're not such a bad girl, are you?
Great choice

Ahh back to the days of Vincent Hanley MTUSA on RTE2. Good critical junction choice I think this made ZZTOP a wee bit more radio playable(Well I never heard of them before MTUSA) :-). I have been listening to some of ZZTOP old stuff lately and its pretty darn good.
I have my air guitar tuned for my M50 journey tomorrow. Please Sarah if you are playing "TV dinners" keep it for 9am for me PLEASEEEEEEEEEE

I think this is going to be JUST RIGHT for the weather we're having and with the Bank Holiday Weekend approaching. I'm glad you all approve, Journeyman did drop a BIG HINT on the forum about this album:)
