The Velvet Underground And Nico
With Lou Reed at the helm this self titled album took a long time to make an impact but when it did it reached out too punk, glam rock, and Goth and pretty much every other left of centre musical movement going.Released in 1967 it reportedly took 10 years to crack 6 figures but its influence is immeasurable. Even if you haven't heard the Album you've heard echoes of The Velvets in David Bowie, U2, Nirvana, Roxy Music, Joy Division the list goes on. This is the Original Artsy concept Album and Andy Warhols Peelable Banana Cover wrapped it up nicely.

There's something simple about 60's music, a lot of it has simple lyrics, simple instrumentation and the like. But ultimately it has to be some of the best music ever made. (although there is some serious crap too lol)
And yet again, this album has proven to be yet another classic. Bravo again I say!!
Glad you enjoyed it, this Album in particular has inspired a lot of Critical Junctions over the years, I'm waiting For My Man has a particular radio timelesness to it, we'll definitely play tracks from the Album again!
