Moondance - Van Morrison
The first album to feature on the Morning Live Drives Critical Junctions is Van Morrisons classic from 1970, Moondance. This is his follow up to Astral Weeks which had made him a cult hero. We opened the show with the first track of the album "And It Stoned Me" sweetly nostalgic and a mellow kick off to the Morning. At 8 we played "Into the Mystic" the quintessential Morrison moment. We played the 4th track of the list "Caravan" at 9, it has been called "an incantory ode to the power of radio" so we couldn't resist. We closed the show with the title track Moondance.
Light, soulful and Jazzy, this 1970 album went Platinum for Van and cemented the rise of his solo career.

Fantastic album, but you never played the best song off it, ie: Crazy Love (in my opinion anway)
Excelent idea too.
The Eternal Journeyman
That's the problem with picking the songs to play especially of well loved albums, the more you play the more particular tracks get under your skin, and everyone will differ. We'll give Crazy Love a spin another time though!
